About MetricCave
A practical guide to planning a better cave trip
MetricCave is an independently maintained U.S. show-cave planning library built around clear, cave-specific trip information.
What MetricCave covers
MetricCave focuses on public, visitable caves in the United States: commercial show caves, guided park caves, and other managed underground attractions a traveler can responsibly plan around.
Each guide is meant to answer the questions that matter before a trip: what makes this cave different, how demanding the visit is, when to go, what needs a reservation, and which town or area makes the most sense as a base.
What this site is not
MetricCave is not a wild-cave access directory, a substitute for an operator or park service, or a promise that conditions will match a page forever. Sensitive, restricted, and non-public caves are not treated as destinations to pursue.
The project is intentionally more useful than a photo gallery and more focused than a general travel magazine. The goal is a reliable planning companion for people deciding where to go underground next.
Who maintains it
MetricCave is independently maintained by MetricCave Editorial. Guides are selected, researched, written, and reviewed for reader usefulness rather than supplied as operator advertising.
The library is growing deliberately. A smaller set of well-maintained guides is more valuable than a larger directory full of stale or generic pages.
